Cavs’ trade pickup Lonzo Ball makes decision on Cleveland jersey number image

Lonzo Ball is hoping to endear himself to the Cleveland Cavaliers' fanbase.

As a new veteran for the Cavs after his trade from the Bulls, Ball has to show he belongs and can help Cleveland toward its ultimate goal of winning a championship.

The pass-first point guard has taken the first step toward getting a community behind him. You can now get a Ball jersey with his confirmed jersey number on it.

Ball will wear No. 2 for the Cavaliers.

It was last worn by Ty Jerome up until his recent departure for the Memphis Grizzlies in free agency.

Ball has only ever worn No. 2 in the league, so this isn't a surprise. He also donned it with the Lakers, Pelicans and in Chicago.

He also wore the No. 2 as an All-American at UCLA.

Lonzo is the second Ball child, younger than LiAngelo and older than LaMelo.

He'll be crucial to the Cavs as a reserve guard behind Darius Garland and Donovan Mitchell. Maybe his No. 2 can stand for a strong second unit, just like it did with Jerome.
