Jazz rookie Ace Bailey makes huge contract decision after controversy about reporting to Utah image

There were fears Ace Bailey wouldn't show up.

The Utah Jazz picked the freshman star from Rutgers fifth overall in the NBA Draft, even though he hadn't even worked out for them.

But the 18-year old hasn't just shown up. He's officially a member of the Jazz.

On Wednesday, Bailey signed his rookie contract.

As is standard for first-round picks, Bailey's deal is a four-year contract with a two-year team option for the second half.

As the fifth overall pick, Bailey will get about $41 million.

Clearly, there are no hesitations here anymore.

Bailey has signed on board in plenty of time to contribute in Summer League for the Jazz and start building up his NBA career.

He's got a chance to be a special scorer, and the Jazz are happy to have him, just as he appears happy to be there.
