The No. 2 IMG Academy Ascenders [FL] visited Phenix City, Alabama, to take on the Central Red Devils.

PHENIX CITY, Alabama, Sept. 26 — The SN No. 2 IMG Academy [Bradenton, FL] Ascenders defeated the Central [Phenix City, AL] Red Devils, 49-14, Friday night.

IMG entered the game riding shotgun to the No. 1 St. John Bosco [Bellflower, CA] Braves in the race for The Sporting News High School Football National Championship. The national No. 2-ranked Ascenders handed Alabama's No. 2-ranked Red Devils' squad their first loss of the season.
