Yoana Wissa has come in for fresh criticism from a Premier League legend after his most recent actions on social media.

The Brentford striker recently deleted all posts about his current club from his Instagram account, removed any association to The Bees from his page and unfollowed the club's official account.

This was the latest showing of strong discontent from the disgruntled and wantaway player, who is pleading to be sold to Newcastle United.

Last month, Wissa flew home from Brentford's pre-season training camp in Portugal as he demanded a move to St James' Park and vowed to never train or play for his current club again.

The 28-year-old has since returned to first-team training, but he was not involved in Brentford's Premier League defeat to Nottingham Forest last weekend.

Newcastle have had two bids turned down for Wissa, with the recent offer being worth £40m, meaning the striker is no closer to getting his desired move away.

The Premier League legend believes the Brentford striker's social media antics make his situation look worse off compared to Alexander Isak's increasingly turbulent one at Newcastle.

"Wissa is in a worse position than Isak purely for that (the recent Instagram activity). To just un-follow the club and take all pictures down of a club who've helped you progress as a player," he explained on The Wayne Rooney Show.

Rooney then brutally described how players such as Wissa appear when they aggressively pursue a transfer in the manner he has.

"I think these players are like kids now, or they're very badly advised in what they're doing because I know agents have influence."

"A lot of people have their father or the brother as an agent now. And sometimes the right thing or the right decision is not always the one from the player's point of view," he added.

"It's very disappointing to see his behaviour over the past few days."
