Moses Itauma is regarded as one of the most promising fighters in boxing right now and is tipped to rule the heavyweight division one day.

The 20-year-old continued to display his destructive nature in the ring when he stopped fellow Brit and past world title challenger Dillian Whyte in just one round a fortnight ago.

The win in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia took Itauma's record to 13-0 and was the 11th stoppage of his professional career.

Despite being a professional for just two years, the young heavyweight is already showing signs he could compete against the top fighters in his division and pose them a difficult challenge.

Many among the boxing world are convinced by the Brit's ability, including former four-weight world champion and boxing legend, Roy Jones Jr.

The American even thinks that Itauma is as good as one of the best heavyweights to ever step into the boxing ring, Mike Tyson.

"I like Moses a lot. Moses reminds me of a young Mike Tyson. I say that in the fact that if you put a guy in front of him that he can hit, he's gonna get them out of there," the former WBA heavyweight champion told talkSPORT.

"Dillian Whyte was a guy that could get hit, and he got him out of there. That's the same thing Mike did on his way up."

Jones then suggested that it is possible Itauma could go on to match the achievements of the former undisputed heavyweight champion.

"I like that coming from Moses (knocking his opponents out early) because it gets us excited that we may have another guy that can be what Tyson was. That's a beautiful thought right there," the American stated.

"He may get better, he may not get there. We don't know. But the fact that we see the potential is exciting to me," the 56-year-old added.

While Jones did not face a young or prime version of Tyson in the ring, he knows what Iron Mike possessed as a fighter to some extent, as the pair fought in an exhibition contest in 2020.

Nevertheless, Itauma will feel great about receiving praise from one of the best boxers of all time and being compared to an icon of the sport.
