Age apparently is just a number. The heavyweight division has been put on notice as 20-year-old Moses Itauma took out Dillian Whyte in the first round.
Participating in the first big test of his career, Itauma passed with flying colors. The Brit landed vicious combinations to force the former interim champion to the floor.
Itauma (13-0) may have just secured a title shot or an opportunity against other top-tier heavyweights.
Whyte (31-4) tried playing mind games, waiting a long time in the locker room until the theme from "Jaws" blared through the speakers. However, Itauma was cool, calm, and collected. When the bell rang, he looked like a man possessed.
Whyte pressed forward with jabs. Itauma countered with shots that blindsided Whyte. Using his speed, Itauma glided by Whyte, landing body shots and overhand hooks. He forced Whyte by the ropes and landed towards the middle of his head. Brutal shots all over had Whyte reeling.
A few hooks later, and Whyte was brought down to the canvas. He struggled to get up, and the referee stopped the fight early.

Itauma’s growth is something to marvel at. He’s also mature for his age. Boxing’s biggest prospect has proven he can be the next big thing in the sport.
The Ring’s Turki Alalshikh is ready to book Itauma against undisputed champion Oleksandr Usyk next. Itauma believes he’s ready, but also admitted Joseph Parker and Agit Kabayel deserve shots at gold. There’s also Filip Hrgovic, who won earlier in the night.
Whyte is 3-2 in his past five fights. His three-fight win streak has come to an end, and it’s unknown what’s next for “The Body Snatcher.”
