A former boxing world champion has provided his opinion on how the upcoming undisputed super-middleweight clash between Canelo Alvarez and Terence Crawford will unfold.
Canelo will defend his undisputed crown on September 13 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.
Crawford will be looking to become an undisputed champion in three divisions and world champion in five weight classes.
Canelo has won world titles in four weight divisions, and he became a two-time undisputed super-middleweight champion earlier this year when he beat William Scull.
The jump Crawford is making to super-middleweight is a massive call by the American as he will be stepping up two weight divisions for the upcoming bout.
One fighter to have shared the ring with both Canelo and Crawford is Amir Khan, with the former light-welterweight world champion being the only mutual opponent between the two superstars.
Like Crawford, Khan also moved up two weight divisions to fight Canelo. The pair fought in a middleweight clash nine years ago, with Khan getting knocked out by the Mexican in six rounds.

Speaking on Sky Sports' Toe2Toe podcast, the retired British boxer gave his thoughts on next month's much-anticipated showdown in Las Vegas.
"I'm the only guy to share the ring with both guys. Both fighters are great, they're both great at what they do," Khan stated.
"When I fought Canelo, he was easier to hit. He had slow feet, but had fast hands. Obviously he has a lot of power, so that's one thing Crawford has to worry about. The size and the power."
Despite Canelo naturally being the bigger opponent and having a size advantage, Khan feels Crawford could cope with being the smaller man in the ring.
"I saw a picture of Crawford, where he was weighing around 180lbs, and he looked strong and big. I think he holds the weight well. He's another fighter that's very strong and very powerful."
Khan knows all about Crawford's power as he was dropped by the American in the opening round of their welterweight contest in 2019. The Brit would go on to be stopped inside six rounds after being unable to recover from an accidental low blow from Crawford.
Despite Canelo being more accustomed to fighting at super-middleweight, Khan believes Crawford is capable of pulling off a win in Sin City for one particular reason.
"I do lean more to Crawford in this fight because he's the more fresher fighter. He's not been in too many wars like Canelo," Khan explained.
"This is top-level boxing, so I don't know who's going to win, but I do lean more towards Crawford."
Canelo has spent much time in the ring as he has fought 67 times since turning professional in 2005, while Crawford has entered the ring on 41 occasions since making his professional debut 17 years ago.
