The Houston Texans moved some pieces around on Friday, in the process signaling the winner of one of their position battles.

The inertia for the roster moves came from cornerback Damon Arnette, who the Texans officially signed.

To make room for Arnette, Houston cut longsnapper Tucker Addington, according to multiple reports.

The Texans had just two snappers in camp, so that decides that: Austin Brinkman will have that job in Houston.

Addington had entered the league in 2022 and played a single game apiece for New England, Washington and Miami. He also was under contract briefly with the Cowboys and the Jaguars.

Brinkman beats out Addington, though.

The undrafted rookie played collegiately at West Virginia.

Listed at 6-foot-4, 241 pounds, Brinkman was named to Phil Steele's All-American Third Team after his final season with the Mountaineers.

Brinkman is from Maryland, where he played quarterback in high school while also punting and playing safety.

Now, he'll be handling a key, under-the-radar duty for the Texans.
