Demarvion Overshown got an incredible Father’s Day gift a couple of days early.
The Dallas Cowboys’ rising star edge rusher has a new son, who was born on June 13, according to Overshown’s Instagram post.
And the best part: His son’s name is Texas.
That’s right: Texas Lee Overshown.
Talk about embracing the place you live.
Demarvion Overshown is Texas through and through. He grew up in Tyler and went to the University of Texas in Austin.
And now, his son’s name represents his Lone Star home.

Overshown has already endeared himself to Cowboys fans with his play on the field. The 24-year old missed his rookie season, but then in 2024, he had five sacks and 90 total tackles as a high-energy athlete who made plays all over the field.
He’s added another reason for Dallas fans to love him now.
And if he keeps playing the way he has, Overshown can be crucial to the Cowboys’ future. He’s a great compliment to Micah Parsons, assuming Dallas does indeed give a record contract to their defensive superstar.
Overshown is well on his way to a big contract a few years from now, too. And when that day comes, he’ll be able to pass down his blessings to his son, Texas.
