Warriors bust James Wiseman linked to starting center job with NBA playoff team in free agency image

James Wiseman was meant to be a transcendent NBA talent when the Golden State Warriors drafted him No. 2 overall out of Memphis.

Instead, he's been a draft bust and become a journeyman.

It's hard to give up on such a big, skilled player, though, and he's getting interest this offseason as a free agent.

NBA insider Jake Fischer writes that Wiseman could sign with the Indiana Pacers after the departure of Myles Turner to the Bucks.

Wiseman started the season with the Pacers but tore his Achilles in the very first game.

That's after spending two seasons with the Pistons after leaving the Warriors.

Wiseman technically went to the Raptors in a trade during the season, but he was waived immediately after just being used to match salaries.

Somehow, Wiseman is still just 24 years old.

He has averaged 9.1 points and 5.6 rebounds per game in his NBA career.

But he was meant to be a superstar, and instead, he's just hoping for a small contract from Indiana coming off a brutal injury.
