One final non-district test.

Lafayette Christian and Central (Baton Rouge) clash this week in a key non-district showdown. Last year, the Wildcats won 31-22 en route to winning the LHSAA Division I non-select title.

LCA lost 31-13 last week at Archbishop Shaw for its first defeat of the season. The Knights committed seven turnovers, but UL Lafayette commit Braylon Walker still managed to account for 255 yards.

Central has won 11 straight games in between winning its first state championship since 1966. Former Alexandria Senior High quarterback Max Gassoitt has fit in well with the Wildcats -- rushing for a pair of touchdowns last week against Cecilia.
