For the eighth consecutive year, Iowa City West and Pleasant Valley square off in Iowa high school football action. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. this Friday, September 12, with the game airing live on the National Federation of State High School Associations Network.

The Trojans ended a four-game losing streak to the Spartans last October, scoring a 49-35 victory. Overall, Pleasant Valley leads the series since 2014, 6-3.
Iowa City West is 2-0 on the season having bested Dubuque Hempstead, 56-7, and rival Iowa City High, 30-0. Pleasant Valley, meanwhile, is 1-1 with a win over Bettendorf (24-17) and a loss to Cedar Falls (21-14).
Campbell Janis and Ethan Headings are names to watch for the Trojans, as Janis has 228 yards rushing while Headings has four touchdowns on eight receptions with 259 yards. For the Spartans, Lincoln Dalton has 222 yards passing and 101 yards rushing with five total TDs.
Iowa City West also features University of Iowa commit Julian Manson who has had a hand in multiple facets of the game already this year.
