One of the top Missouri high school football teams in the state, Lee's Summit North High School, and Jason Rogers are no longer tied together.
Rogers, who was suspended for the first three games of the 2025 Missouri high school football season, resigned from his post on Wednesday, the school announced.

In 2024, Rogers replaced Jamar Mozee as head coach at Lee's Summit North. The team put together an 11-2 campaign under Rogers, reaching the Class 6A state quarterfinals where they were defeated by Nixa.
"The district accepted the coaching resignation of head coach Jason Rogers, effective immediately," Lee's Summit North principal Dr. Tim Collins wrote in a letter to families (thanks to KCTV5.com for the quotes). "We are committed to supporting our players through this period of change."
Deron Washington has been serving as the interim head coach in place of Rogers. The Broncos posted a victory over Raymore-Peculiar, 24-13, in the season opener and are set to face Staley this Friday night with games against Mill Valley, Blue Springs, Blue Springs South and Liberty North on the horizon.
According to a report by On3.com, Rogers was suspended after violating state practice regulations. The team went over the 20-day summer cap for working with the players, but in a release by the school, it was found that more violations had occurred since including players practicing without physicals or proper registeration.
"I am disappointed to share that since Aug. 1, additional violations have occurred," Collins wrote. "Specifically, a few students participating in practices without fully completing their physicals or the registration process.
"I know this is not the start to the season anyone wanted, and I recognize how disappointing and disruptive this has been for our athletes."
