The first Football Friday Night in September brought with it some incredible individual performances in Iowa high school football.

Here is a look at some of the top passing, rushing, receiving and defensive performances from the week. Stats are from those placed in Bound by Sunday, Sept. 7, 5 p.m. CT:

Iowa High School Football: Week 2 Top Performances

Passing

  • Charlie Sager, Camanche: The senior racked up 433 yards in the air with five touchdowns on 23 of 37 passing.
  • AJ Harder, Tri-Center: A year after leading his team to a state title, Harder is back racking up yards, this time going for 359 with a pair of touchdowns.
  • Brooks Weber, Mid-Prairie: The junior completed 22 passes for 351 yards and four passing touchdowns.
  • Keagan Lee, Easton Valley: Lee remains a TD machine, as he threw seven on 14 of 15 passing with 328 yards.
  • Reese Chiabotta, Melcher-Dallas: The senior hit on 17 of 25 for 327 with five touchdowns in the air.
  • Caden Schmidt, MVAOCOU: Schmidt was extremely accurate, completing 74 percent of his passes for 319 yards and five TDs.

Rushing

  • Jaxon Gordon, Riverside: Gordon placed his name on the single-game rushing chart, going for 422 with five touchdowns.
  • Jayden Nanthan, West Burlington/Notre Dame: Just a sophomore, Nanthan broke free for 346 yards on the ground with three trips to the end zone.
  • Keshawn Wyldon, Burlington: Burlington has some RBs, as Wyldon ran for 338 on just 16 carries - that is over 21 per rush - with four touchdowns.
  • Laken Caves, Alburnett: The junior piled up 314 yards and five touchdowns on just 21 attempts.
  • Jamison Ewing, Southeast Warren: Ewing put in the work, rushing 43 times while churning out 310 yards and four touchdowns.

Receiving

  • Callan Messerich, Easton Valley: The Kee defense could not contain Messerich, as he scored five touchdowns on eight receptions with 220 yards.
  • Braiden Johnson, Des Moines East: In a shootout with Des Moines Roosevelt, Johnson caught 13 passes for 192 yards and three TDs.
  • Cael Witt, Tri-Center: Witt broke out with 12 receptions for 180 yards and a touchdown.
  • Ethan Headings, Iowa City West: All four times Headings caught the ball he went to the end zone, piling up 170 yards in the process.

Defense

  • Alec Ducommun, Northwood-Kensett: The defensive lineman got free for four quarterback sacks.
  • Hunter DeGard, Melcher-Dallas: From his defensive tackle spot, DeGard was unguardable with four sacks.
  • Kael Blohm, Gladbrook-Reinbeck: Blohm caused problems with four sacks on defense in a big win.
  • Griffin Mohr, Coon Rapids-Bayard: Just a freshman, Mohr made a statement with a four-sack performance.
  • Jason Kastner, Logan-Magnolia: Kastner picked off three passes, returning one for a score.
  • Titan Foster, Nodaway Valley: Foster had three interceptions for his team.
