The Philadelphia Eagles and A.J. Brown are saying all the right things.
They still want to involve him. He wants the team to win no matter what. All those standard, meaningless lines.
The reality is that Brown hasn't been much of a contributor so far this season for the Eagles, and it's surprising.
Brown has had three quiet games amid the Eagles' 4-0 start, with these stat lines:
- Week 1: 1 catch, 8 yards (1 target)
- Week 2: 5 catches, 27 yards (8 targets)
- Week 3: 6 catches, 109 yards, 1 TD (10 targets)
- Week 4: 2 catches, 7 yards (9 targets)
So what gives?

What's wrong with A.J. Brown?
The first speculation here would've been to wonder whether Brown is injured. But after a bit of a ding in the preseason, there's been no indication of injury as the season has gone along.
Could Brown have lost a step? That seems unlikely. He was still a superstar just last season.
The Eagles haven't had as much success throwing the ball with Jalen Hurts as they have in the past, so that hasn't helped.

Brown also had a slow finish to last season, which may have foreshadowed that this was coming.
It certainly seems like, for whatever reason, Brown just isn't being leaned upon in the same way in the 2025 NFL season as he has in the past.
He's certainly still capable, as that 6-109-1 line in Week 3 showed. He just needs the chance.
