The first College Football Playoff rankings of the season loom on Tuesday, but Week 10 brought a shakeup in both the Coaches Poll and AP Top 25 on Sunday.
Three ranked teams fell against unranked teams on Saturday, while Tennessee, Vanderbilt, and Cincinnati were among ranked teams that saw their playoff hopes take a sizable hit with losses to other ranked opponents.
Oklahoma might be able to claim the most impactful win of Week 10, as the Sooners went into Knoxville and avoided a third loss in four games to keep their playoff hopes very much alive. The final stretch of the season presents a tough challenge for Oklahoma, but clearing that hurdle on the road was one of the biggest moments of the Brent Venables era.
Elsewhere, Georgia Tech saw its undefeated season slip away thanks to a defensive meltdown at NC State. The Yellow Jackets now find themselves in a crowd of one-loss teams in ACC play fighting for a trip to the conference title game with the regular season hurtling toward the end.
What's clear is the Big Ten's grip on the top of the rankings won't change ahead of Week 11. Ohio State and Indiana both won in blowout fashion on Saturday, keeping themselves on track for a potential meeting in the conference title game.
