Millions of pounds in prize money are on offer when Formula 1 teams duel  for position each weekend, as every constructor looks to beat their closest rivals. That is true whether it is at the head or the foot of the table, even if McLaren did run away with this season’s title.

But in the ever-changing and chaotic midfield fight, where does each team stand and where will each time finish?

The Current Order:

5. Williams (102)

6. Racing Bulls (72)

7. Aston Martin (68)

8. Sauber (55)

9. Haas (46)

10. Alpine (20)

At the top of this midfield battle sits Williams, whose lead over Racing Bulls was helped by Carlos Sainz’s stunning podium finish at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix. In truth, the four races since the summer break have really helped the Grove-based team, as they have racked up 32 points. For reference, in the four races before the summer break, they earned just 15 points, and in the trio of races before that, just three points.

Other than a remarkable run of form from any from the trailing teams until the end of the campaign, fifth place should be Williams’.

Elsewhere, Alpine would need a shock result, akin to their second and third place finish at last year’s Sao Paulo Grand Prix, if they were to finish anywhere other than bottom. The Enstone team have now gone five races without a point, and do not look set to inflate that tally massively in the final half a dozen races of 2025.

Haas also need a strong points haul if they are to lift themselves above their current position of ninth. They sit nine points behind Sauber and have only scored nine points in a weekend twice; in China and Zandvoort.

Meanwhile Sauber have not paralleled the heights of their storming run during the European season, when they collected 39 points between the Spanish and Hungarian Grand Prix. Since, they have scored just four points in as many races.

But the close battle in the midfield is between Racing Bulls and Aston Martin, who are separated by just four points. Understandably, being in such a congested midfield fight, both have endured patches of inconsistency, but have had high points.

The highest of those belong to Racing Bulls, who stood on the podium in Zandvoort, following Isack Hadjar’s brilliantly executed weekend. In addition to that, in recent races, they finished fifth with Liam Lawson during the Azerbaijan Grand Prix weekend.

In total, they have finished in the points on 13 occasions, between their two cars. Aston Martin, meanwhile, have finished in the points 11 times, but have generally scored a handful of points in doing so. Eight times out of those 11 when they have been in the points, it has been in the top eight.

Aston have also excelled in high downforce tracks, like Hungary and Singapore, and have turned their form around considering where they were at the beginning of 2025. One thing is incredibly likely though, that this battle will endure until the season’s end.
