It was another unusual session in Zandvoort as Practice 2 was littered with incidents and flags.

A clean sweep for McLaren's Lando Norris as he topped the timesheets again, with a 1:09:890 - bettering his time from the morning run

Teammate Oscar Piastri finished third, eight one-hundredths off.

It was a completely different session for the Aston Martins, as Lance Stroll brought out a red flag when he ended up in the barriers at the banked Turn 3.

The crash caused significant damage to the car.

His teammate Fernando Alonso ran into traffic with Kimi Antonelli early in the session. The four-time champion was on a fast lap when he came up on the Mercedes on the racing line during an outlap.

"Antonelli is blind!", Alonso relayed over his radio, as he made gestures towards the Italian from the cockpit.

Despite that incident, the Spaniard was one of the fastest on track during Practice 2.

Not long after the first red flag, there was another hiccup in the session. A virtual safety car was activated when Isack Hadjar's Racing Bull stopped on track at Turn 8. The driver said the car had "no power".

It was a much better session for the Ferraris as Lewis Hamilton finished 6th and Charles Leclerc 8th on the timesheet.

Hamilton had another spin on track during a flying lap - this time he ran wide and onto the grass at Turn 9, but managed to keep his Ferrari on track.

The forecasted rain hit the track before the session, but made little impact. Another shower was expected early into the session but never manifested.

With 22 minutes to go, another red flag was brought out! Alexander Albon suffered a big lock up into Turn 1 and ended up in the barrier, his Williams beached in the gravel.

He tried to get his car back on track, but ultimately couldn't. A stark contrast to his fifth-spot finish in the first session earlier in the day.

George Russell and Piastri almost collided in the pit lane during that second red flag. The McLaren almost swerved into the Mercedes, forcing Russell to slam on his breaks.

It looked as though McLaren were attempting to get Piastri's car reversed into the garage. The stewards are set to investigate the incident after the session.

Back on track, Piastri had a similar moment to Hamilton as he kicked up the grass with a minute remaining - but lifting the throttle helped avoid any incidents.

Max Verstappen finished one place better than Practice 1, but was still five tenths off Norris' pace in front of his home crowd.
