Nottingham Forest have continued their late summer transfer business, confirming the signing of Juventus defender Nicolo Savona on a five-year contract.
The deal, announced on Saturday (August 30), is worth up to £13.4 million (€15.5m) and sees Savona become the ninth new arrival at the City Ground this summer.
Forest manager Nuno Espirito Santo was vocal about his frustrations with the club’s recruitment at times during the window, but the Tricky Trees have nonetheless managed a fair few important signings.
Key additions already include Omari Hutchinson from Ipswich Town for £37.5m, James McAtee from Manchester City for nearly £30m, Rennes striker Arnaud Kalimuendo for a fee of roughly £26m, and Bologna winger Dan Ndoye for £35m.

They have also brought in striker Igor Jesus and defender Jair Cunha from Botafogo, former Aston Villa midfielder Douglas Luiz, and goalkeeper Angus Gunn from Norwich City.
Who is Forest’s new signing Savona?
Savona, 22, joined Juventus’ academy at the age of eight and worked his way up the ranks before making his senior debut last August.
He made 40 appearances for the first team across Serie A, the Champions League and the FIFA Club World Cup last season.

The Italian plays primarily at right-back, though he is also capable of playing centrally or on the left side of defense, adding valuable versatility to Forest’s back line.
Savona is also the second Juventus player to make the move to Trentside this summer, following Douglas Luiz, who has arrived on loan for the 2025-26 campaign.
"I am very excited to be here. It is a new experience for me as a person and a player. It is such a historic club, and the move is a dream come true," Savona told Forest’s official website.
"I can’t wait to play in front of the fans at the City Ground, and I will give my all for the shirt."
His experience in Italy’s top-flight and the Champions League is expected to be an asset for Forest, who return to European competition after a 30-year absence in this season’s Europa League.
