It's been two days since the Asia Cup 2025 concluded, with India being crowned as the champions for the ninth time in history, as they beat their arch-rivals Pakistan in the final on Sunday, September 28, in Dubai.
Despite winning the final, India did not get their silverware as they decided against taking the trophy, essentially boycotting ACC chairman Mohsin Naqvi at the event.
Naqvi, who is also the chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), reportedly walked out of the stadium with the trophy with him as the Men in Blue eventually celebrated their win, without the title in their hands.

What happened in ACC meeting with Mohsin Naqvi? BCCI officials walk out
ACC member associations convened for a meeting on Tuesday to discuss the final outcome on the trophy controversy, but it ended on a sour note as BCCI representatives, Ashish Shelar and Rajeev Shukla walked out of the meeting as they did not get any clarity on the matter, according to The Indian Express.
On BCCI's gesture of walking out of the meeting, a top official told IE, "Shelar informed members that the BCCI secretary Devajit Sakia has already written to ACC about the same but there has been no response. The BCCI wants the trophy and medals to be delivered to ACC’s office in Dubai from where the Indian board will get it collected. However, Shelar didn’t get a positive response for the same. So Shelar and Shukla decided to quit the meeting, marking their protest."
