Following their walkout from the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) meeting on Tuesday, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) are now planning to push for the impeachment of ACC chairman Mohsin Naqvi.
BCCI are prepared to take the extreme step in the aftermath of the Asia Cup final, where the Indian team were not presented the winners' trophies and medals and instead Naqvi walked away with the silverware as the Men in Blue had earlier refused to collect the trophy from the ACC president, who is also the chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).
While the Indian players did celebrate their victory over arch-rivals Pakistan in Dubai last Sunday, they did not have a trophy to show off.

Following the incident, BCCI met ACC members and the executive board on Tuesday to find a resolve, however, BCCI representatives Ashish Shelar and Rajeev Shukla later walked out as they did not get any clarity on the matter.
BCCI to push for the removal of Mohsin Naqvi as ACC president
According to News18, BCCI will push for the impeachment of Naqvi from his ACC role, citing breaches of sporting protocols and impartiality while conducting the Asia Cup 2025.
BCCI claims that by walking away with the Asia Cup trophy, Naqvi undermined the integrity of the ACC tournaments.

Will India get the Asia Cup 2025 trophy and medals back?
Despite the controversy, there is no doubt that India will eventually receive the Asia Cup trophy and their medals. Saikia confirmed that the BCCI will file a strong protest at the ICC’s Dubai meeting and make sure the matter is resolved.
Pakistan captain Salman Ali Agha, meanwhile, took a swipe at India, saying, “If he (Mohsin Naqvi) is the ACC president, then he will only give the trophy. If you don’t want to take it from him, how will you get a trophy?”
But in reality, the ACC cannot hold back the title or the trophy from the winning side. The silverware belongs to India, and it is only a matter of time before it is handed over.
Two days after the final, as per the latest by Cricbuzz, the ACC chair has shown willingness to hand over the trophy to India; however, he has put one condition in front of them, asking for a formal function where he will present the title.
Considering India's strong stance throughout the competition, it is highly unlikely that any function takes place, as the 'logjam' continues.
