It's been three days since India clinched its ninth Asia Cup title, but the Men in Blue have yet to officially receive the trophy.
India boycotted collecting it from the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) and Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chief Mohsin Naqvi during the presentation ceremony. Naqvi, in response, left with the trophy.

While Naqvi eludes India's chance to lift the trophy, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) officials remain firm in their decision not to let the Pakistan administrator hold on to the silverware for much longer.
The BCCI is unlikely to budge to Naqvi's recent condition of a formal function where he would present Suryakumar Yadav the trophy.

How will India get the Asia Cup trophy?
On Tuesday, over 24 hours after India's five-wicket win over Pakistan in the final, Naqvi showed his willingness to give the trophy back to India, given that the organizers had arranged a formal function.
However, with geopolitical tensions still high between India and Pakistan and Naqvi's involvement as Pakistan's Interior Minister, the BCCI has asked the ACC to hand over the trophy to the International Cricket Council (ICC) headquarters in Dubai.

According to Pakistani media reports, Naqvi has rejected India's request and maintains his stance, asking the Indian captain to take the trophy in person. The situation in a logjam is currently a matter of who will accept the other party's conditions.
During the recent ACC meeting, BCCI's Rajeev Shukla reminded Naqvi that the silverware "is the property of the ACC" not Naqvi himself. He demanded the matter be resolved immediately, insisting that the trophy "needs to be handed to India in a proper manner."
The exchange grew tense as Naqvi defended himself, saying he was made to “look like a cartoon” and pointing out that India had never given anything in writing about refusing the trophy from him.
As things stand, BCCI is expected to raise a complaint and call for ICC's intervention to solve the case if Naqvi doesn't budge.
