Dhanashree Verma has been in the headlines once again. After her divorce from Indian cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal, she has faced endless trolling online, many even calling her a "gold digger."
Now, while appearing on Ashneer Grover’s reality show Rise And Fall, Dhanashree opened up about her marriage and also gave a sharp response to the trolls, which is now going viral.

What did Dhanashree say about respect in her marriage?
During a discussion with fellow contestants on Rise And Fall, Dhanashree spoke about her journey after the separation. She explained that marriage is about respecting not just yourself but also your partner.
In the viral video, she was heard saying that even though she could have spoken against Chahal, she chose not to.
Her words were, "When you are in marriage, then you are responsible ki dusre person ka bhi respect aapke haath mein hota hai. Chah kar main bhi disrespect kar sakti thi,"
"You think I don’t have things to say as a woman, but he was my husband. I respected even when I was married and I have to respect it now that I was married to him," she added.

This moment touched many viewers as it showed how she chose dignity over blame even after the split.
How did she hit back at trolls calling her a gold digger?
In one of the promos of the show, Dhanashree gave a witty response while doing a task with actor Arjun Bijlani.
The contestants had to pick between two bags, a gold one worth Rs 2 lakh and a silver one worth Rs 1 lakh. Arjun joked that gold suits him better.
To this, Dhanashree replied in a light-hearted but clever way, hinting at all the “gold digger” comments she has faced online. She laughed and said, “I can’t say this line. If I say it, then even the love I deserve won’t come to me.”

When did Dhanashree and Yuzvendra Chahal separate?
The couple tied the knot in December 2020, after meeting during the COVID-19 lockdown. But after four years, things didn’t work out.
They filed for divorce by mutual consent in February 2025, and the separation was legally finalized in March this year.
