The Washington Commanders have been without No. 1 wide receiver Terry McLaurin for two games due to a quadriceps injury.

McLaurin came down with the issue in Week 3 and sat out both Week 4 and 5. The hope was that McLaurin would return in Week 6, but right now the prospects of that happening aren't looking good.

On Wednesday, head coach Dan Quinn revealed that McLaurin would not practice and will be monitored throughout the week. The good news for Washington is that fellow injured wideout, Noah Brown, will be back at practice.

"Dan Quinn said WR Noah Brown will be at practice today," ESPN's John Keim said. "Quinn said Terry McLaurin will not be. They will monitor both as the week unfolds. Quinn said Brown's absence is related to the groin and not the knee injury suffered in the spring (that lingered into camp)."

It looked like McLaurin was moving in the right direction and had a good chance to play in Week 6 against the Chicago Bears after Quinn said he was "optimistic" that the veteran wide receiver would suit up this week.

The fact that McLaurin isn't practicing to start the week isn't a good sign, although it is very possible he'll rebound in the next few days. Bear in mind, Washington plays on Monday, so McLaurin has an extra day to get right this week.

The Commanders don't have to release an injury report on Wednesday because of their Monday night game, so the next update on McLaurin will come on Thursday.
