Is Zach Charbonnet playing today? Latest injury update on Seahawks running back image

After not having his services in Week 3, the Seattle Seahawks are hoping to get running back Zach Charbonnet back in Week 4 against the Arizona Cardinals.

Charbonnet popped up on the injury report in Week 3 with a foot issue and did not practice at all before being ruled out for the game against the New Orleans Saints.

There is a good chance Charbonnet will return to action this week after what we saw out of him in practice, but he does have a questionable tag before kickoff.

Here's what we know about Charbonnet's chances of suiting up in Week 4.

Is Zach Charbonnet playing today?

UPDATE: According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Charbonnet is expected to play against the Cardinals.

END OF UPDATE

According to the Seahawks' final injury report, Charbonnet is questionable to play, but he did log full practices all week, which suggests he's going to suit up versus Arizona.

Even still, make sure to keep an eye on the injury report, which comes an hour and a half before the 8:15 p.m. ET kickoff on Thursday night.

Unless his snaps are limited, Charbonnet's return is bad news for fellow running back Kenneth Walker, who will likely see fewer touches than he did last week.

Walker tallied 10 and 13 carries in two games with Charbonnet in the lineup, and then 16 without the UCLA product playing last week. When healthy, Charbonnet had more carries than Walker (12 and 15) in Weeks 1 and 2.

For our fantasy football folks out there, that makes both shaky flex options because of the risk of a lackluster workload.

That said, Walker has proven to be the more effective back when called upon and his big-play ability makes him a superior starting option to Charbonnet in what should be a shared backfield once again.

Walker is averaging a respectable 4.2 yards per carry, while Charbonnet is gaining half that per carry.

Arizona has been giving to running backs in 2025, with the team surrendering the 11th most fantasy points per game to the position. That leaves the door open for both Seattle backs to be productive on Thursday night.
