The Philadelphia Eagles can't figure out how to use their star wide receiver.
And amid the struggles, A.J. Brown is posting cryptic messages on X and making everyone wonder how he might be feeling about all of this.
That's got Bleacher Report's Alex Kay coming up with a new idea: The pitch is that the Eagles should trade Brown to the New England Patriots for a second- and seventh-round pick.
It would get whatever drama with Brown might be looming out of Philadelphia's way, and it would give Pats QB Drake Maye a true No. 1 wide receiver.

Here's how Kay explains it:
Brown has been struggling to find his footing in 2025, catching just 14 passes for 151 yards and a touchdown. Despite the slow start, the 28-year-old isn't too far removed from a series of world-class campaigns such as his 2023 Pro Bowl season in which he posted a 106/1,456/7 line on 158 targets.
Even last year, while missing four contests due to injury, Brown racked up 1,079 yards and seven scores on 67 receptions.
With the Eagles still managing to get off to a 4-0 start despite Brown's shortcomings, they may be amenable to dealing him to New England. His services won't come cheap, but the Pats shouldn't hesitate to create a standout, veteran-laden receiving corps led by Diggs and Brown.
Doing so will help Maye reach his ceiling and allow him to lead this organization back to the playoffs.

The Eagles would take a step back in their WR corps with a deal like this, which might make it a tough pill to swallow. On paper, Brown and Devonta Smith are a great 1-2 punch.
Jalen Hurts would lack a top target without Brown, but the offense also hasn't appeared to need it. So maybe this is something that could really happen.
