Bo Nix was supposed to be too old, or not have the arm strength, or any number of other things that were nitpicked about his game coming out of college.
But the Denver Broncos' second-year QB keeps proving people wrong.
On Monday night, Nix dominated the Bengals in a 28-3 win.
He had 326 passing yards and two touchdowns while also running for a short TD.
It's the kind of game Denver always hoped Nix could give them despite the doubts of many others.
And on Monday night, he did so.
The Bengals were overmatched. Backup QB Jake Browning clearly wasn't up to the task of facing the Broncos' strong defense.
Nix was just fine against Cincy.
He'll continue to be tested, of course. Nix didn't get off to the best of starts this season, especially on his deeper throws.
But it's a long season, and long careers, and guys need to be able to trust each other in certain positions or certain spots to make it work the best.

Nix has proven to the Broncos that he's worthy of their trust.
And so what comes next should be an adventure for the Broncos, who seem to have their franchise quarterback in place.
