The Philadelphia Eagles scored on their very first drive of the 2025 season in the Week 1 game against the Dallas Cowboys.
However, wide receivers A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith were nowhere to be found, as neither player recorded a single catch during the 10-play, 70-yard drive.
So, what gives? Here's the latest on both Brown and Smith
Are A.J. Brown, DeVonta Smith playing tonight?
UPDATE: We are through the first half and nothing has changed with Brown and Smith, as the latter is the only one with a target and a catch.
Talk about unexpected.

END OF UPDATE
UPDATE: With a little over two minutes remaining in the half, Smith and Brown have combined for just one catch for six yards, with Smith being the one who is responsible for the reception. And, that target is the only one between the two receivers.
Meanwhile, the Eagles have been easily moving the ball on the ground, so they haven't needed much from their passing attack.
END OF UPDATE
Yes, both A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith are in the lineup for the Eagles on Thursday night, they just didn't see a target over the first series.
We don't expect that to last much longer, though.
Smith and Brown are one of the best one-two punches at wide receiver in the NFL, as both have multiple 1,000-yard seasons during their respective careers..
