Yes, you read that headline correctly: Micah Parsons' mom and grandmother are both reportedly in attendance for the Week 1 game between the Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles on Thursday night.
Of course, that's bizarre because the Cowboys just traded Parsons to the Green Bay Packers last week, so he isn't even playing in the game.
The report comes from NFL Network's Mike Garafolo:
"I am told, and I find this hilarious, Micah Parsons' mother, Sherese, will be here, is already on the premises, along with his grandmother," Garafolo reported. "Sharese is wearing Cowboys gear tonight to the game. I can't believe I heard that but that's exactly what is happening."
Following her son getting traded, you would assume that Cowboys jersey was already in a dumpster somewhere, but clearly that is not the case.
Of course, Parsons is a Philadelphia native and went to college at Penn State, so it's understandable why his mom might attend an Eagles game. But the fact that she's wearing a Cowboys jersey in the process makes this extremely strange.
She must really hate the Eagles.
As the Cowboys suit up for their regular-season opener on Thursday night, Parsons is still preparing for the Packers' Week 1 showdown with the Detroit Lions at Lambeau Field.
Parsons is listed on the injury report with a back issue and isn't guaranteed to play. He has been limited over the first two days of practice.
