Sitting at 0-6, there has been speculation that the New York Jets could move on from first-year head coach Aaron Glenn. While things haven't gone well, with the Jets looking like the worst team in the league, Glenn has only been the head coach for six games.
Moving on from one of the more exciting offseason hires would be a premature decision, but with how bad the team's looked through six weeks, such a move wouldn't be the most surprising.
However, according to Zack Rosenblatt of The Athletic, the Jets have no plans to fire Glenn now or any time soon. Glenn's job is safe, and not just for this season, but even in the 2026 offseason as well.
Aaron Glenn's Jets job is safe, according to a new report
"Let's get this out of the way: Glenn is not getting fired." Rosenblatt writes. "Not this season, and not in the offseason either."
While the first six weeks of the Aaron Glenn experience in New York haven't gone well, the team isn't planning to pull the plug anytime soon.
Glenn and the Jets aren't off to a good start, but they've shown some potential here and there. And if Glenn can land a franchise quarterback in the upcoming NFL Draft, then things might be on the upswing in New York.
Of course, there's a lot of work that needs to be done, especially for Glenn himself, but there's reason to have some optimism looking ahead to the future. Dan Campbell with the Detroit Lions got off to a terrible start, and Nick Sirianni's start in Philadelphia was far from smooth.

Giving Glenn time to build a culture and a roster shouldn't be too outlandish, especially with how bad the roster was that Glenn inherited. There are some key pieces, like Sauce Gardner and Garrett Wilson, who will be major building blocks in the next year and a half.
Obviously, the beginning of Glenn's tenure has gone poorly. Their Week 6 performance, -10 net passing yards against the Denver Broncos, and an end-of-half coaching blunder from Glenn, culminated in a lot of negative feelings following a brutal loss.
New York is likely to miss the playoffs and end up with a top draft pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. Glenn, barring a significant change, will remain with the Jets for the remainder of the 2025 season.
He is likely to stick around for the 2026 season as well, as Jets ownership is willing to give Glenn a chance to establish his vision for the team, and one season isn't enough time to do so.
