Trade rumors are abuzz surrounding the New York Jets, and their 0-6 record hasn't done them many favors.
Running back Breece Hall is a name that has been circulating in trade speculation, given the former Iowa State star is in the final year of his contract, and a cryptic post to his Instagram this week.
"They want me to lay down but I got sum to stand for... #Free20," Hall posted on his account.
Breece Hall's five-word response to question about his post
The New York Post's Brian Costello had the opportunity to ask Hall what he meant by his eyebrow-raising Instagram caption, "Free20."
"I asked Breece Hall if he could give me an interpretation of his social media post. He said, 'maybe one of these days.'"
Clearly, Hall is fed up in New York, can read the writing on the wall, and understands the direction he's heading with the franchise.
His demeanor is a complete turnaround from last week, when Hall was asked by the media in London about his current stance with the Jets.
"I’m here, I want to be here, I love being a New York Jet," he told reporters from across the Atlantic Ocean.
But after a demoralizing loss to the Denver Broncos, something changed.
Hall is currently the Jets' best offensive player, with star wide receiver Garrett Wilson sidelined with a knee injury.
A contending team looking for a boost to their ground game may find the former Cyclone as a piece to put them over the top, and New York, considering the state of their roster, would be silly not to consider moving Hall for future draft capital.
