The Miami Dolphins had two key offensive players whose Week 1 statuses were up in the air due to injury in wide receiver Tyreek Hill and running back De'Von Achane.
Both players are listed on Miami's injury report this week, with Hill dealing with an oblique and calf injury and Achane working through a calf issue. Both players were limited over the first two practices of the week.
In what is great news for the Dolphins' offense, Achane and Hill are "absolutely" on track to suit up in the season-opener against the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday, head coach Mike McDaniel revealed on Friday morning.
Tyreek Hill, De'Von Achane injury updates
"Tyreek Hill and De'Von Achane are 'absolutely' on track to play Sunday vs the Colts, per McDaniel," ESPN's Marcel Louis-Jacques reported.
Hill is coming off a down year in 2024 that saw him struggle through a wrist injury. It also didn't help that Hill didn't have quarterback Tua Tagovailoa for a handful of games due to a concussion.
Hill made some waves following the final game of the 2024 season, when he made it quite clear he didn't want to be in Miami anymore. However, Hill has since walked those comments back.
Meanwhile, Achane thrived in his first season as Miami's lead back. He tallied 907 yards and six touchdowns on the ground (4.5 yards per carry) while also adding 78 receptions for 592 yards and another six scores.
The Dolphins will release their final injury report of the week on Friday, so we'll have more clarity on Achane and Hill's statuses then.
