The Los Angeles Rams had a major question mark entering this week thanks to an injury to wide receiver Puka Nacua.
Nacua suffered the injury in the Week 6 win over the Baltimore Ravens. The star wide receiver exited the game in the first half before eventually returning, but he was unable to play a full complement of snaps.
After Nacua didn't practice at all on Wednesday and Thursday, we got the update on his Week 7 status that we were all expecting on Friday.
Puka Nacua injury update
According to The Athletic's Nate Atkins, head coach Sean McVay revealed that Nacua will not play in Week 7 against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
"Rams WR Puka Nacua and RT Rob Havenstein are OUT for Sunday’s game against the Jaguars," Atkins reported. "Everyone else is good to go."
While unfortunate, this was to be expected.
ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reported that Nacua was a "long shot" to play, but the good news is he avoided a serious injury. The Rams have a bye in Week 8, so Nacua can rest up without having to miss another game in the hopes he can return in Week 9.
With Nacua out, Davante Adams should be peppered with targets from Matthew Stafford. Jordan Whittington and Tutu Atwell should also get more run with the Rams' No. 1 wide receiver sidelined.
