The Kansas City Chiefs navigated the first half of the season-opening game against the Los Angeles Chargers but tight end Travis Kelce was quiet.
While Kelce didn't do much in the first half, he did have a run-in with teammate and wide receiver Xavier Worthy, who he leveled by accident on the first series of the game.
Unfortunately, the collision led to an injury for Worthy, who has now been ruled out for the remainder of the contest with a shoulder issue.
So, what's up with Kelce's slow start? Here's what we know.
Is Travis Kelce playing tonight?
Yes, Kelce is active and on the field, but he has only gotten one target, which he reeled in for 10 yards.
That is especially strange because the Chiefs are very short at wide receiver. The team doesn't have Worthy because of the aforementioned injury, and Rashee Rice is suspended and rookie Jalen Royals was ruled out during the week.
If the Chiefs are going to turn things around in the second half and come back from the 10-point deficit, they need more from their superstar tight end.
