The Cleveland Browns currently have six quarterbacks on their roster (if you include Deshaun Watson, which you don't really need to do). Excluding Watson, there are still five signal-callers on the Browns' roster, which is far too many. Considering how Shedeur Sanders played against the Carolina Panthers, a few quarterbacks may have had their fates sealed and could be on the move.
We'll start with Kenny Pickett, who was acquired in a trade from the Philadelphia Eagles in March. he was getting most of the reps early on in training camp, but suffered a hamstring injury, which led to opportunities going elsewhere. The Browns got a close eye on what Pickett was capable of when he was in Pittsburgh with the Steelers - he lost a game to Dorian Thompson-Robinson. Pickett's not a starting-caliber quarterback. Find a team in need of an upgrade at backup quarterback.
Dillon Gabriel has struggled in training camp, having a 3-of-14 day at one point and has been deemed incapable of being an NFL quarterback. Call the Los Angeles Rams or another team who would like a project at quarterback and see if you can get a future Day Three pick in exchange for the third-round pick.
Should the Browns do that, they enter Week 1 with a quarterback room of Joe Flacco, Shedeur Sanders, and Snoop Huntley - that's far better than keeping Pickett and/or Gabriel.
