Ravens sign former 1st-round pick to add depth at key position image

The Baltimore Ravens have bulked up.

They did it on Tuesday by signing a former first-round pick as a depth offensive lineman.

According to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero, the Ravens have signed Kenyon Green to their practice squad.

Green worked out for the Ravens last week, and now they've brought him aboard.

The Eagles waived Green last week to make roster space for the newly claimed WR Xavier Gipson.

Philadelphia originally traded for Green from the Texans on March 11.

They waived him Aug. 25, then signed him to the practice squad on Aug. 27.

On Aug. 31, Green was signed to the active roster, only to be waived on Sept. 6. Then the Eagles signed Green again on Sept. 17, only to waive him again on Monday, Sept. 22.

Green, an offensive guard, originally entered the NFL as a first-round pick, No. 15 overall, and he started in 23 of the 27 regular season games he was active for with the Texans.

The Ravens clearly liked enough of what they saw in Green's workout to sign him.

It's been a bit of a fall from grace for Green, but he keeps getting chances to try and prove what he can do.

Baltimore will have bigger concerns this week as it tries to figure out the health of Lamar Jackson. But in the meantime, they've brought some new talent aboard.
