The 20th-ranked Michigan Wolverines defeated the Wisconsin Badgers 24-10 on Saturday.

The return of Sherrone Moore to the sideline was a success in Ann Arbor. The Wolverines head coach was serving a two-game suspension for his role in the NCAA's signal-stealing scandal.

“It means everything, it’s like Christmas morning,” Moore told FOX’s Jenny Taft before kickoff. “I just open up the best present in the world. So let’s go, let it rip.”

This marked Michigan's 27th consecutive win against a non-ranked opponent. The Wolverines also gained depth in the secondary with defensive backs Rod Moore and Zeke Berry back on the field after suffering from lower-body injuries.

Wisconsin wanted to establish a rushing attack with Dilin Jones, who rushed the ball 17 times for 63 yards and the Badgers lone touchdown against the Wolverines' defense. On the other side, Bryce Underwood threw for 270 yards and a touchdown. Justice Haynes added 117 yards on the ground with two scores. He's the first Michigan player with 100-plus yards rushing in each of the first 5 games of the season since 2010.

The Wolverines' defense made it difficult for the Badgers to move the ball down the field, allowing 2.7 yards per carry and forcing Badgers quarterback Hunter Simmons to complete quick, underneath passes to get an offensive rhythm. When he tried to push the ball down the field, Moore intercepted a pass late in the third quarter.

Michigan plays USC next week. Wisconsin faces Iowa next for their homecoming.
