For just a few moments, the bright lights of Major League Baseball seem to have gotten to the Washington Nationals' newest call-up.
But in the end, Bruce the Bat Dog got the job done.
The 2-year old golden retriever made his MLB debut, sort of, on Saturday.
He's been down with Triple-A Rochester as a classic yet adorable kind of minor league promotion.
It was Bark at the Park on Saturday in D.C., though, so Bruce got the call to come hang out, too.
The Nats couldn't use Bruce to fetch bats during the game, so he got his work in pregame.

Bruce will head back to Rochester now, where he'll continue to delight upstate New York crowds.
Hopefully he gets to come back to the big leagues soon.
