James Wood has more power than almost anyone else in baseball.

And he's just getting started for the Washington Nationals.

The 22-year old, 6-foot-7 outfielder hit a baseball Friday night to a place in D.C. that is pretty much never reached.

There's a garage door out in centerfield well beyond the fence, just to the right of dead-center. It's about 450 feet from home plate.

Wood drilled it with an absolute laser.

It took the baseball just under five seconds to make it all the way out there, too.

That was Wood's 17th homer of the season. He's up to .283 mid-game with the long ball.

Wood also has nine stolen bases and a .918 OPS.

Clearly, he's one of baseball's brightest young stars. And if he keeps hitting baseballs to places like that, everyone will know his name very, very soon.
