Dodgers’ Shohei Ohtani ties himself as only player in MLB history with these stats image

Shohei Ohtani is so historic that he often finds himself on record lists that only include his own name.

That happened again for the Los Angeles Dodgers superstar on Saturday night.

After reaching the 25-homer mark in L.A.'s weekend win, he's up to 25 HR, 11 steals and five triples on the season.

He's the only player in MLB history to have 25-10-5 before July. And now he's done it twice, also in 2023.

Yeah, he's pretty good.

The crazy part of a stat like that, or of Ohtani's 50-50 HR-SB 2024, is that it doesn't even involve pitching.

This dude is the greatest baseball talent ever, a two-way dynamo. But while he's been off the mound due to Tommy John surgery, Ohtani has proved himself a hitter unique to the history of the sport just on that side of the ball.

His mound return is coming soon, so he'll have the chance to put up plenty more bonkers statistics.
