There have been few hitters as special in the postseason as Carlos Beltran.

Now, Jackson Chourio is trying to write his name on that list for the Milwaukee Brewers.

Chourio is off to a scorching start to the playoffs through his first three games against the Chicago Cubs in the NLDS. So hot, in fact, that he and Beltran are the only two players to start a postseason like this.

This is the historic stat provided by OptaStats:

"Jackson Chourio has a 1.522 OPS and 9 RBI through his first 6 career postseason games. Since RBI were first tracked in 1920, the only other MLB player with a 1.500+ OPS and 9+ RBI through 6 career postseason games is Carlos Beltran (1.557 OPS, 11 RBI)."

The Brewers were the best team in baseball for much of the season, in large part thanks to the phenomenal Chourio.

But there was at least some question as to how their game would translate as a team into the postseason. They aren't a team of huge sluggers. They win baseball games in a lot of different ways, and most of the numbers lately say that home runs win in the playoffs.

Chourio is maybe the brightest example that yes, the Brewers can hit for power. He was always a highly regarded prospect, and he may have even outshone the hype that surrounded him as he rocketed through the minor leagues.

Teams often only go as far in the playoffs as their superstars go.

For the Brewers, Chourio is that guy. He's the player their orbit revolves around. He's the guy that can lead them to ultimate glory.

And with how Chourio is playing right now, he really might do just that.
