Josh Naylor once celebrated a postseason home run by rocking the baby as he rounded the bases.

Now, he has a baby of his own to rock.

The Seattle Mariners' first baseman was a question mark for ALDS availability due to his wife's pregnancy, and Mariners fans have been waiting for news.

Naylor hasn't been too forthcoming.

"Josh Naylor said that congratulations are indeed in order,," wrote MLB.com's Daniel Kramer on X, "but preferred not to speak further about it, saying 'I try to keep my family life out of baseball.'"

Naylor did wear a glittering blue belt during Game 3 of the ALDS, so maybe there was some kind of gender reveal information to that.

Or maybe Naylor just wanted to shine bright on the field.

Naylor hadn't initially traveled with the Mariners to Detroit for Game 3, but he was there by first pitch. He went 0-for-5, though.

Naylor is actually 0-for-13 in the first three games against the Tigers, not helping Seattle, which is off to a 2-1 series lead, anyway.

Naylor and his wife, Chantel Collado, hadn't had a child before this pregnancy.

There's often a narrative that athletes that have become new fathers get the dad boost when they return to action.

Naylor may still be waiting for that, but the Mariners will hope it's coming (and on cue, he doubled in his first at bat of Game 4).

This team is trying to go to the ALCS for the first time since 2001, and to the World Series for the first time ever. Naylor can certainly help that cause if he gets on a roll.
