Lamar Jackson injury fantasy tips: QBs to pick up off waiver wire to replace Ravens star image

Lamar Jackson is iffy for Week 5.

The Baltimore Ravens' superstar quarterback is dealing with a hamstring injury, and it's not clear whether he'll be ready to suit up for his next game. Anyone who has Jackson in fantasy football will be awaiting each piece of injury news to figure out what to do.

So far, we know that Jackson did not participate in Wednesday's practice.

Cooper Rush would start for Jackson if the former MVP can't go, but Rush isn't worth a fantasy pickup.

Instead, there are a few options available in at least 50% of leagues on Yahoo.

Who should I pick up in fantasy for Lamar Jackson injury?

Here are three suggestions for pickups in fantasy football to replace Lamar Jackson if he is out in Week 5, with ownership on Yahoo listed:

  • Jaxson Dart, New York Giants (31%)
    • The rookie QB ran a bunch in his NFL debut and showed he could spin it, too. The matchup here is a big part of the idea. The Giants take on the New Orleans Saints, and Dart has the potential for a big day.
  • Trevor Lawrence, Jacksonville Jaguars (41%)
    • The former No. 1 overall pick has never quite matched the hype, but he's still a solid player with a good floor. He doesn't play until Monday night against the Chiefs, which is a fun hammer to have in your matchup.

  • Spencer Rattler, New Orleans Saints (5%)
    • A deep league special, Rattler ran eight times last week and continues to throw with some efficiency. The Giants pass rush will flush Rattler out of the pocket, but given his movement skills, he could have a good fantasy day even if the Saints don't win the football game.
