Saints, Arch Manning get exciting prediction for NFL Draft future of Texas star QB image

The New Orleans Saints could struggle through a rough 2025 NFL season.

But if that happens, it may set them up for a savior in the 2026 NFL Draft.

The No. 1 overall pick, if the Saints earn it, could be very profitable. The 2026 quarterback class is loaded.

That's even more true if Arch Manning plays as advertised at Texas and decides to enter this year's draft versus staying in school.

That's what The Sporting News' Anthony Licciardi predicts will happen. He's got Arch, like his grandfather Archie, going to play for the Saints.

"There's a ton of uncertainty around Manning entering the draft by the January deadline," Licciardi writes. "Between NIL checks, the chance to build a legacy at Texas and the unforgiving nature of the NFL, it'd be hard to blame him for staying. Still, turning down the chance to go first overall is bold, and Manning is talented enough to earn that capital. In his two starts last season, Manning showcased high-level arm talent and above-average athleticism. More importantly, his post-snap processing resembled an experienced passer, and he remained poised out of structure. Doing so deep into the College Football Playoff is a tougher task, but he'll enter the season as my top quarterback with little hesitation."

It'll be one of the most scrutinized stories of the college football season: Is Arch staying or going?

He'll be in the spotlight right away this weekend when No. 1 Texas takes on No. 3 Ohio State at 12 noon ET on Saturday.

If Arch performs well against the Buckeyes, the hype train will take off to a whole new level.

And that train, if New Orleans is lucky, might end with Arch in a Saints uniform.
