Tre'Davious White used to be a star for the Buffalo Bills.

Those days are long gone.

Now back in his second stint in Buffalo, White is being targeted by opposing quarterbacks. They know he just doesn't have it anymore.

White, who had a torn Achilles that didn't help him continue the sterling start to his NFL career, hasn't been a particularly effective cornerback for a few seasons.

But now? He's getting absolutely burned.

Entering Week 6, the stats throwing against White are potent.

According to the Democrat and Chronicle, White has been targeted 15 times. On those throws, he has allowed 12 catches for 119 yards and a touchdown. He's also been called for three penalties.

Anecdotally, it just seems like White is playing so far off his matchup on most plays. It seems he knows that he doesn't have the speed to catch up deep, so he sits back and lets catches be made in front of him.

But to allow 80% of targets his way to be completed is just not good enough.

Buffalo's CB depth is shorter than the Bills would like in part because first-round pick Maxwell Hairston has been out injured. The Bills also opted against re-signing Rasul Douglas in the offseason in free agency, instead bringing aboard White.

So far, it simply hasn't worked out. White is a veteran leader, but his play on the field has left a lot to be desired.
