The Oregon Ducks got off to a blazing start to the 2025 football season with an easy run-fueled drive, culminating in a 16-yard touchdown run by Jayden Limar.

But the pregame festivities didn't go exactly as planned.

Coming back from commercial break, the Big Ten Network caught the Oregon Duck mascot losing its head and scrambling for cover, leading to some humorous reactions on social media.

It isn't the first time Oregon's famed mascot has lost its head, but it may be the one that fans remember most.

In 2023, the mascot came out in a cowboy hat and proceeded to lose its head, once again leading to the person inside the costume turning on the jets.

It's not often you see a headless mascot run a 40-yard dash to safety in pregame warm-ups.
