Most people believe that a Phoenix Suns-Kevin Durant trade is all but inevitable this offseason. The writing seems to be on the wall.

Durant isn’t part of the team's current coaching search. The team tried to trade him during last season’s trade deadline. Most of all, multiple reports have confirmed that Durant and the Suns are looking for trade partners.

So, when DraftKings Sportsbook released the odds on who Durant will start the regular season with next season, it was a shock to see the Suns at the top of the list

Phoenix has the best odds at +230, followed by the Minnesota Timberwolves at +250, then the Houston Rockets at +300.

Of course, trading superstars, especially ones that make as much money as Durant does, is difficult. Especially with the new CBA and salary cap rules, it can be complicated to move a contract like Durant's.

Still, it does seem wild that a major sportsbook believes Durant is more likely to start the season as a Sun rather than go to another team.

Durant trade rumors have him linked to multiple different teams. It seems likely that one of those teams will be able to figure out a way to fit Durant’s contract into their salary cap for next season.

If Durant does start the season on the Suns, it would indicate an offseason failure for their organization. Durant has made it clear that he is ready to move on from Phoenix, and the Suns need to switch things up anyway.

Where exactly Durant will or should land is another story completely. Regardless, NBA fans are hoping that a Suns-Durant trade happens over the next few months because, despite what the oddsmakers think is most likely, Durant on a different team to start next season is much more exciting.
