Cal Raleigh did something that no one has done before.
That's kind of the refrain of the season for the Seattle Mariners' superstar catcher, isn't it?
It's true once more thanks to a cool stat shared by the Mariners PR team on X.
Raleigh is the first Mariners player ever to lead the entirety of Major League Baseball in home runs for a single season.
He ended with 60, which was also the single-season record for catchers, switch-hitters and Mariners.

Raleigh is only the second Seattle player to even lead the American League in homers.
Ken Griffey Jr. did that four times: in 1994, 1997, 1998 and 1999.
Of course, those years in which Junior was doing his best power hitting had quite the prodigious slugging happening in the National League to hold the overall MLB league.

Raleigh had some strong competition from the NL. Kyle Schwarber hit 56 homers, and Shohei Ohtani hit 55.
But in the end, the Big Dumper outdid them all, along with AL MVP contender Aaron Judge of the Yankees.
And with the playoffs now here, it's particularly exciting for Mariners fans who know how good Raleigh has been this season.
Because the question has quickly become: What will Cal do next?
