In many ways, it feels a bit fitting.

Cal Raleigh will spend eternity alongside Babe Ruth in the MLB history books.

The Seattle Mariners' superstar catcher hit 60 home runs in the 2025 season. That's the career-high of Ruth.

That 60 homer total goes into the books as third in American League history.

Aaron Judge hit 62 homers a few seasons ago.

Roger Maris had broken Ruth's record when he blasted 61 home runs in 1961.

Ruth topped out at 60 in his career.

And now Raleigh is tied in third place.

The Great Bambino will surely throw his arm around the Big Dumper.

Raleigh set records this season for home runs by a catcher (breaking 48 of Salvador Perez), a switch-hitter (breaking 54 of Mickey Mantle) and a Seattle Mariner (breaking 56 of Ken Griffey Jr.).

He made a late run at Judge's AL record, but Raleigh didn't get there.

It kind of feels right, though, for Raleigh to spend his time with Ruth in the books.

No modern player saw Ruth play from anything other than grainy footage.

But there's still something legendary about Ruth, and now Raleigh is in his company. That's pretty cool.
