The Kansas City Chiefs' wide receiver room has looked a bit different during the 2025 season.

Through four weeks, the Chiefs have relied on a motley crew of talents to fill in gaps in the X and slot. Between Rashee Rice's suspension and Xavier Worthy's shoulder troubles, Kansas City has nearly 1,600 yards of last year's receiving offense sitting on the sidelines.

Worthy returned to action with a bang last weekend. But ahead of Kansas City's "Monday Night Football" matchup with the Jacksonville Jaguars, he finds himself in limbo once more, stuck on the injury report.

So, is Worthy playing on Monday night? Here's the latest on the Chiefs' wideout's health ahead of Kansas City's joust with Jacksonville.

Is Xavier Worthy playing this week?

Kansas City listed Worthy as questionable for Monday night's contest, declaring that he was dealing with shoulder and ankle trouble. He entered the weekend with no injury designation and was a full participant in each of the Chiefs' practice sessions during the week.

NFL Network's Cameron Wolfe reported that Worthy's ankle was swollen getting off the team plane on Sunday. Kansas City's decision to list him as questionable is viewed as precautionary.

Xavier Worthy injury update

Worthy came into Kansas City's Week 4 duel with the Ravens with a torn labrum and dislocated shoulder that he suffered in Week 1 vs. the Los Angeles Chargers. The injuries kept him off the field in Weeks 2 and 3. He returned to action against Baltimore and enjoyed a strong performance, collecting five catches for 83 yards.

Nothing seemed out of ordinary for the Texas alum, who was expected to field catches as Kansas City's No. 1 WR in its Week 5 tilt against the Jaguars.

However, on Sunday afternoon, the Chiefs listed him as questionable, citing the shoulder issue that plagued him in Weeks 1, 2 and 3. They also declared that Worthy was dealing with an undisclosed ankle injury.

Early reports suggest that Worthy will play on Monday night. But the nature of his injury designation could indicate that he takes on a slightly less involved role in the Chiefs offense -- at least at some points during the game.

Worthy and Hollywood Brown appear likely to collect the vast majority of targets among Kansas City's wideouts. The Chiefs received inspired performances from Tyquan Thornton in relief, while Rashee Rice will return from his suspension in Week 7.

Should you start Xavier Worthy in fantasy?

Based on Sunday's reporting, Worthy appears more likely to take part in Monday night's game than not. He enjoyed a strong return to action against Baltimore, albeit he was facing one of the league's worst secondaries.

If Worthy is involved, he should see a large share of targets from QB Patrick Mahomes. Travis Kelce's struggles have prompted Mahomes to use any and all options in the pass game, including Worthy.

The Jaguars surrendered the eight-most receptions to wide receivers entering Week 5. That should offer him a chance to succeed -- and make fantasy owners very happy.

There is no certainty that Worthy takes part in Monday night's affair. But if he does, he should produce some sort of fireworks. Look to the speedster if you're locked in a tight fantasy matchup come Monday night.
